Terms of Service

The service

socialmediaapi.lol provides REST endpoints that return publicly available information from social platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, public Facebook groups and the Meta ads library.

Endpoints, response fields and rate limits are versioned. We will publish a deprecation window before removing or changing a documented contract.

Accounts and keys

You must sign in with a valid Google account to obtain an API key. You are responsible for keeping that key confidential and for all requests made with it.

One person or organisation per account. Sharing a key with third parties, or reselling raw API access, is not permitted without a written agreement.

• Keep keys out of client side code and public repositories
• Rotate a key immediately if you believe it has leaked
• Notify us of suspected unauthorised use

Acceptable use

You may build products on top of the API. You may not use it to harass individuals, to build a profile of a private person, to attempt to de anonymise users, or to circumvent any access control on the underlying platforms.

• No scraping of private, restricted or deleted content
• No use for surveillance of individuals or protected groups
• No bulk resale of the data as a competing feed
• No attempts to bypass rate limits or authentication
• No use in violation of platform terms or applicable law

Your compliance obligations

Public data is still regulated data in many jurisdictions. You are responsible for ensuring that your collection, storage and processing of the data you retrieve complies with the laws that apply to you, including GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA and equivalent regimes.

Availability

We target 99.95 percent monthly availability but the service is provided on an as available basis. The platforms we read can change without notice, which may occasionally affect coverage or field availability. We will communicate material changes.

Fees and taxes

Paid plans are billed in advance through our payment processor and renew automatically until cancelled. Prices are exclusive of taxes, which are added where required.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, that poses a security risk, or that is the subject of a lawful request. Where possible we will give notice and an opportunity to fix the issue.

You may cancel at any time from the billing page. Access continues to the end of the paid period.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the service is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits or lost data.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable at the operating entity principal place of business, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes will be handled in the courts of that jurisdiction.
